UK employment rates are falling at the fastest pace in a decade

Employment rates in UK fell from April to June at the most rapid pace in decade due to Coronavirus outbreak and the shutdown of the country as 220 people lost their jobs during the second quarter of the year according to data released by the Office for National Statistics.

Employment has declined at the most rapid pace since the second quarter of 2009 after the global financial crisis.

Statistics indicated that people most affected by the pandemic are the younger and older youth and handicrafts. The change in unemployment benefits rose by 94.4k, exceeding expectations for a rise of only 9.7k. While unemployment rate at 3.9%, against expectations of a rise to 4.2%.
