Wage growth in the UK remains strong, accelerating at the fastest pace since mid-2008, as the wage rate excluding bonuses for the May-July period rose to 4%, up from 3.8% in the three months to June.
Unemployment also fell to 3.8% to historically low levels, and the employment rate was unchanged as July's rate was 76.1% and remains the highest since the start of record in 1971.
The unemployment rate was 4% in the same period last year, and the number of people in the labor market was about 32.8 million people.
